Having decided to buy a bigger TV, I liked the look of the Samsung LE40C530 40in and started trolling through all the reviews. I soon decided, judging by so many positive comments that for £365.50 at that time, this was the TV for me and ordered it in mid January 2011. It was delivered within three days. I followed the simple on-screen instructions for initial tuning, had no problems connecting to my Blu-ray player, amplifier, or to my cable box. Needless to say I'm delighted with this TV.

One small observation you may find helpful, if it's not too obvious; A couple of purchasers wrote that they had difficulty fixing the base as the TV is large and bulky. As I intended putting it in a large bedroom, I simply laid the TV face down on the bed to protect the screen, then had no problem fitting the base. If it's going in your lounge, then maybe laying it on the sofa will offer the best protection as you also fit the base.

I upgraded from an old cathode-ray type Sony TV, which had an excellent picture, apart from missing the sides of the broadcast programme (!) to this 40" LCD HD-TV, which is fantastic. It was extremely straightforward to set-up; it is easy to navigate through and the Eco-Solution picture mode is a great idea. The quality of the picture is amazing, particularly with the HD channels. No complaints so far, and the price and delivery from Amazon were also without fault. It is a Which Best-Buy model by the way.

Sound and Picture

ive only had this telly few hours but i have to say the sound and picture quality are far better than i ever could of hoped for and has left my old tv which was an lg make on its sorry backside.I have my tv hooked up to my sky hd box and now i appreciate programmes and films far more than before, i also have my ps3 hooked up as well with an hd cable and the games i have given a quick try on this new telly are even more realistic adding to my game enjoyment.The tv was delivered prompt and intact and once again i cant praise amazon enough for their service provided. I end by saying i would highly recommend this product and would go as far as to say this cheaper version of tv leaves many of the dearer tv's in its wake.

Excellent product and service

I purchased this TV for my daughter Ruby as an upgrade to her old 26" CRT. This new Samsung LE40C530 40-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview is of superior quality to its Model predecessors and definitely good value for money. The image is very precise and sharp even without HD connectivity.

Easy to set up - plug and play and the best part is Amazons excellent order and delivery service - the item arrived within 36 hrs of purchase (although they state 3/5 days free delivery) - I had to call them soon after placing the order due to a duplication error on my part - and they were very professional, thorough and curtious about the correction process.
